The Graveyard Book and Perhaps Some Explanations

Thu Oct 29, 2009, 5:39 PM
To start off with, I'd like to let everyone know that there is an amazing site with video of Neil Gaiman reading his entire book, The Graveyard Book. It gave me a new appreciation for the audiobook readers of the world as well as swept me through an excellent story. Even if you have read it before I would highly suggest checking into this:

In other news, for those of you who do not have access to my sketchbook on a regular basis, let me assure you, I am not in a drawing lull. I am sketching daily and have completed a couple new pieces, but due to the fact that I am not quite sure where I could manage to scan these pieces, they are not upload quite yet. I also need to gain the permission of a certain deviant so that I can post another piece as well.

So! Enjoy your evening guys and galls! Ta ta for now!

We..... need to collab. Cause I gots me a new computer. Well, newish. Virus free. And not talking to you ever makes me sad. And co-creating some form of madness would be crazy fun. Thoughts?
:iconthepinktroll:
YES!! I gasp and does happy dance at the news of your newer computer!!! This opens up so many closed doors! HUZZAH!! And argh, it'll be so much fun talking to you again!! :D

Anyway, back to collaboration- that would be so much epic fun! Well, my first question would be what sort of colab would you want to do- Would it be the type that we've talked about before, the comic with you writing and me drawing, or do you want to do something different?

The only idea I've been brooding on has been the vamp thing, but I'm open to anything. Do you have any alternative thoughts?

(YAY!)
:iconthe-flying-octopus:
I still have a lot of transfery things to do to make it my own, but yes, it's new and it's mine! And I am excited! And my goal for my new compy is to actually put something on deviantart! Cause we all haven't heard that one before...

Anyhow, collaboration. I think we should do a comic because it plays to both of our strengths. And I really want to do the vamp thing. I really do. It is so beautiful in my mind. But it really truly doesn't have a plot. Thoughts?
:iconthepinktroll:
Sure, that comes with the new computer territory. Woot! I'm excited for you! :D ...Doth mine ears deceive me, or did I hear mention of actual posting! SQUEEE! Just so you know, if you ever do post something, I'm going to start directing people to read it. And I will use bold. Liberally.

Yes, collaboration. That sounds good! I really liked the sound of the vamp thing, but again, all I can think of is one scene-ers on the history of vamps. For example, last week in AP US History we watched a video on how when spain was conquering america a conquistador came across an indian tribe (the Lakotas according to google) that drank buffalo blood. I then moved that onto buffalo blood: part of a tradition, why not human blood as well?> someone from conquistador's group got curious and.... new strain of vamps in europe?

But as for plot, setting, characters for the Actual Story, I have no freaking clue. :(
:iconthe-flying-octopus:
Um, that's a little frightning. You know how I feel about excessive use of emphasis. But I'm writing something new as we speak, and I really do want to actually put something on my account.

Yeah.... I think we should beat it into some sort of shape. Really? Ok one, your APUSH class is WAY more interesting than mine and that's totally not fair, and two, I like that. I had an idea that Leland (or whatever we call him, the one who wants to be human) is compiling a history of the vampires. Like, the two mains are both trying to come to terms with what they are, one violently and the other... depressedly I guess. It's just an idea, it could become a plot. Its a little psychobabbly though.
